HomeField Contractor Agreement
Terms for contractors participating in the HomeField Experts pay-per-qualified-lead program.
Last updated: March 17, 2026
This Contractor Agreement ("Agreement") describes the terms for contractors participating in HomeField Experts ("HomeField," "we," "us," or "our").
By participating in HomeField as a contractor, specialist, or service provider ("Contractor," "you," or "your"), you agree to these terms.
1. Purpose
HomeField Experts connects homeowners with vetted home service specialists for specific services and service areas.
HomeField operates on a pay-per-qualified-lead basis. Contractors do not pay for visibility alone. Contractors pay for leads that meet the qualification standards described in this Agreement and are delivered by HomeField.
2. Relationship of the Parties
HomeField is a homeowner-specialist matching and lead generation platform.
HomeField:
- markets services to homeowners
- collects and reviews homeowner inquiries
- delivers qualified leads to participating contractors
- may feature one Recommended Specialist and, in some cases, additional Trusted Specialists by service and city
HomeField is not:
- the contractor performing the work
- a general contractor
- a party to any agreement between you and a homeowner
- responsible for estimates, scheduling, workmanship, permits, code compliance, warranties, or project outcomes
You are solely responsible for the services you provide.
3. Eligibility and Participation
To participate, you may be asked to provide:
- legal business name
- primary contact name
- phone number and email address
- service categories
- service area
- proof of license where applicable
- proof of insurance
- any other vetting information reasonably requested by HomeField
HomeField may accept, reject, pause, or remove any Contractor at its discretion.
Participation in one city, service category, or placement does not guarantee exclusivity unless explicitly agreed in writing.
4. Lead Delivery
HomeField may deliver leads by:
- text message
- phone notification
- CRM entry
- another agreed delivery method
A lead may include:
- homeowner name
- phone number
- email address if provided
- requested service
- city or service location
- project details submitted by the homeowner
- timestamp and source information
Leads may be reviewed and delivered manually.
5. Qualified Leads
A lead is considered qualified and billable if it:
- is for an agreed service category
- is within your agreed service area
- includes usable homeowner contact information
- reflects a real homeowner inquiry or request for service
- is delivered to you by HomeField
- is not excluded under the non-billable lead rules below
A lead does not need to become a booked job to be billable.
HomeField is selling a qualified introduction, not a guaranteed closed project.
6. Non-Billable Leads
A lead is not billable if HomeField reasonably determines that it was:
- obvious spam
- a duplicate within the duplicate window
- outside your agreed service area
- for a service you did not agree to receive
- missing materially usable contact information
- clearly not a real homeowner service inquiry
Duplicate Window
A lead is considered a duplicate if the same homeowner and substantially the same project were already delivered by HomeField to the same Contractor within the prior 30 days.
7. Billability Is Not Based on Project Outcome
A qualified lead remains billable even if:
- the homeowner does not answer
- the homeowner chooses another contractor
- you do not close the job
- the scope changes
- the project is postponed or canceled
Billability is based on the lead meeting HomeField's qualification standards, not on whether the project is ultimately won.
8. Pricing
Lead pricing may vary by:
- service category
- urgency
- market
- placement type
HomeField may price leads using simple categories such as:
- Standard Lead
- High-Value Lead
- Premium or Emergency Lead
Pricing will be communicated separately during onboarding, by email, invoice, or in an account-specific agreement.
HomeField may update pricing prospectively.
9. Billing and Payment Terms
HomeField generally bills on a weekly basis for approved qualified leads.
Standard Billing Terms
- invoices are typically issued weekly
- payment is due within 7 calendar days
- invoices may list each approved lead individually
- disputed leads may be excluded pending review
Accepted payment methods may include ACH, card, or another approved payment method.
HomeField may pause future lead delivery for overdue balances.
10. Disputes and Credits
If you believe a lead should not be billed, you must dispute it within 2 business days of delivery.
Disputes should include:
- homeowner name or lead reference
- reason for dispute
- any supporting details
If HomeField reasonably confirms the dispute is valid, the lead will be credited or removed from the invoice.
If a dispute is not submitted within the dispute window, the lead may be treated as approved.
11. Placement, Routing, and Visibility
HomeField controls:
- contractor placement on the site
- lead routing
- featured visibility
- category participation
- city/service assignments
Participation does not guarantee:
- a minimum number of leads
- permanent placement
- uninterrupted delivery
- exclusivity
- any particular ranking or visibility
HomeField may send leads to one Recommended Specialist, a limited number of Trusted Specialists, or alternative providers where needed.
12. Contractor Responsibilities
You agree to:
- respond to homeowner inquiries promptly
- communicate professionally and honestly
- provide accurate business, licensing, and insurance information
- keep service area and service offerings current
- comply with all applicable laws, codes, and regulations
- perform services in a lawful and professional manner
- avoid false, misleading, or deceptive claims
You are solely responsible for:
- estimates and pricing
- scheduling
- contracts with homeowners
- permits
- code compliance
- staffing and subcontractors
- warranties
- workmanship
- dispute resolution with homeowners
13. Vetting and Platform Standards
HomeField may describe participating contractors using terms such as "vetted," "recommended," or "trusted" based on its internal standards.
These designations:
- reflect HomeField's platform review process
- may change at any time
- do not guarantee project outcomes
You remain solely responsible for your business operations and customer experience.
14. No Guarantee of Volume or Revenue
HomeField does not guarantee:
- lead volume
- conversion rate
- booked work
- project value
- revenue
- exclusivity
- continued participation
15. Suspension or Termination
HomeField may suspend or terminate participation at any time for reasons including:
- nonpayment
- repeated dispute abuse
- poor responsiveness
- homeowner complaints
- compliance concerns
- inaccurate business information
- reputational risk to the platform
You may stop participating at any time, but you remain responsible for unpaid approved invoices.
16. Limitation of HomeField's Role
HomeField is a referral and lead delivery platform. HomeField does not supervise, direct, or control the services you perform.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, HomeField is not liable for:
- homeowner decisions
- missed bookings
- lost revenue
- project disputes
- service complaints
- project delays
- workmanship claims
- indirect or consequential damages arising from participation in the platform
17. Changes to This Agreement
HomeField may update this Agreement from time to time. Updated versions become effective when posted, unless otherwise stated.
Your continued participation after an update means you accept the revised terms.
